Grant Guidelines & Eligibility
Guidelines
The Reiter Family Foundation seeks to support organizations that are doing meaningful work to shape and sustain Colorado communities. Our areas of focus are housing and food security (February), education and youth programming (May), and environment and conservation (September), but we do welcome inquiries from non-profits who do not necessarily fit neatly into our focus areas. In terms of geographic location, we tend to focus our giving in the Denver Metro and Grand County areas of Colorado.
Elegibility
Applicants must have 501(c)3 status through the IRS.
Applicants must go through the full application process and follow through with reporting requirements should the grant be fulfilled.
Applicants can only submit one grant proposal each calendar year (January - December), but may apply again the following year unless otherwise advised.
2025 Fulfilled Grants
Our giving in 2025 was fairly evenly split between housing, with another large grant to Elevated Denver’s Community Hub project among other housing organizations, and education, with a large endowed grant going to student experience funds at Wartburg College, and again, additional funding split among other local Denver education organizations. We met our goal of expanded environment and conservation giving this year by increasing funding for that pillar from less than 1% to 20% of all grants in 2025. We are well on our way to $1,000,000 given which is a milestone we plan to meet after our first grant deadline of 2026.
2024 Fulfilled Grants
In the past year, our giving has been focused primarily on housing and rare disease medical research initiatives. We remain dedicated to supporting education and are excited to expand our efforts by partnering with more organizations focused on environmental/conservation causes in 2025.
