Congratulations to Our February 2026 Housing and Food Access Grantees
After reviewing all of our incredible grant applications for our February 1st Housing and Food Access grant cycle, we were filled with gratitude for the number and caliber of nonprofit organizations in our local communities doing vital work in these areas. With this round of funding, we are excited to support diverse projects ranging from large-scale food recovery and distribution to emergency housing assistance for uniquely impacted populations to culturally sensitive food banks to the purchasing of a box refrigeration truck. Congratulations to the following:
Imagine!: providing Emergency Housing Assistance to support the Community Partners Housing Navigation Program. Funds will provide direct financial assistance for application fees, security deposits, moving costs, and temporary housing (typically 3 months) for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD), brain injury (BI), and autism who are currently experiencing homelessness while navigating complex eligibility processes for long-term housing.
Hope Communities: supporting their biweekly food distributions. At each food distribution, Hope Communities also offers essential items such as toilet paper, cleaning supplies, and hygiene products—critical supports that often fall outside already-stretched budgets.
The Delores Project: helping to sustain its 24/7, housing-focused emergency shelter serving women, transgender, and nonbinary individuals experiencing homelessness in Denver. Grant funds will support core shelter operations, including staffing, safe and dignified shelter, meals, case management, housing navigation, and supportive services that help individuals transition from homelessness to permanent housing.
Southwest Food Coalition: contributing to the replacement of its primary refrigerated box truck and to partially cover the cost of the dedicated driver who operates it. This truck is the single most critical asset in SWFC’s food distribution system and is essential to ensuring consistent access to healthy food for families across Southwest Denver.
Masjid Al-Shuhada’s Food Relief Program: operating two walk-in pantries that distribute culturally-sensitive Halal food packages to those in need. One pantry is in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood and a second, larger pantry is in Denver’s immigrant-rich Goldsmith neighborhood.
Nourish Meals on Wheels: supporting the preparation and delivery of approximately 3,333 scratch-made hot meals for older and homebound adults in South Metro Denver. Meals are delivered directly to the door by trained, compassionate volunteers and include a brief wellness check. For many clients, this meal and visit represent their only in-person interaction.
Restoration Outreach Programs (repeat grantee): continuing to provide support for a variety of community services to meet the needs of the East Colfax community, specifically by contributing to their new building.
We Don’t Waste (repeat grantee): continuing to provide funding for their large-scale food recovery and distribution programs in and around the Denver Metro Area.
